Wetherlam at 2,503 ft or 763 m, is a mountain in the Furness Fells in the English Lake District. Although its flanks are scarred by disused copper mines & slate quarries it still has a rugged beauty.
Having spent most of my trips to the Lakes in the Southern confines, Wetherlam has always been one of the first mountains I spotted when I visited. It seems almost ironic now that it frames my view on most days, or at least most days the weather will allow.
Winter has arrived! A very snowy Wetherlam.

A Word...

Winter has arrived and whilst most of the snow has melted away in Ambleside the 'tops' are still covered in the white stuff. After a wet and wild weekend we now have blue skies and beautiful views (at least for a day or two). See the Gallery page for more snow capped peaks. The rising Sun and mist creating an eerie atmosphere over Low Wood Bay. A snowy Nab Scar and Heron Pike with mist covering Ambleside. Wetherlam with its head in the clouds

Latest Time Lapse

I have quite a few interesting time lapse videos that I'd like to share but there is a real issue with the best way to do this. The images above are just that, images, or animated gif's to be accurate. To share videos I have to use Youtube or host the videos on Google drive, with both methods presenting their own challenges.

I have a YouTube channel where better quality time lapses can be viewed
